Worker killed in Freetown industrial incident

An investigation is underway after a worker died at a Freetown scrap metal recycling facility Thursday.

 

First responders were called to Excel Recycling around noon after receiving reports of an injured employee.

 

Freetown Police Chief Scott Rose told 12 News first responders determined the worker was injured in an incident involving a front-end loader.

 

It’s unclear exactly how the worker died at this time. Rose said the Occupational Safety and Health Administration was notified and is assisting with the investigation.
