Republican gubernatorial nominee Mike Minogue brought his campaign to the South Coast on Thursday, criticizing Democrat Maura Healey’s first-term record as polls show him trailing by double-digits.
Minogue’s itinerary included a meet-and-greet with congressional candidate Tyler Macallister at Merrill’s on the Waterfront in New Bedford and a campaign fundraiser at White’s of Westport. In an interview with 12 News, he said he is feeling momentum.
“People understand this is the tipping point election,” he said. “We cannot afford four more years of Maura Healey overspending, overtaxing and overregulating. And if we think people have been leaving in the past — if she wins again, it will be a massive exodus of young people and entrepreneurs and businesses. And we cannot let that happen.”
