Police seek driver who fled Fairhaven crash that injured 4

An investigation is underway into a crash in Fairhaven that stemmed from a driver fleeing a traffic stop on Wednesday night.

 

Police said an officer attempted to pull over a vehicle near Bridge Street, but when the officer stepped out of his cruiser, the driver sped away on Alden Road.

 

The suspect then ran from the scene after crashing into another vehicle, a utility pole and a residential fence in the area of Howland Road.

 

According to police, the vehicle’s three passengers and the driver of the other car were taken to St. Luke’s Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

 

As of noon Thursday, the suspect hadn’t been located.

 

Police assured there is no threat to the public at this time, saying that no weapon was involved, nor was there any indication that the driver was armed.
