A push to rollback marijuana legalization in Massachusetts looks likely to fail, at least according to new poll numbers.

 

The University of New Hampshire Survey Center poll, released Sept. 24, found that 71% of likely Massachusetts voters say they would vote no on Question 8, which would repeal laws that permit the sale of recreational marijuana. Just 24% said they would vote yes, with 5% unsure.

 

The question is one of nine set to appear on Bay Staters’ ballots this November, an amount that’s tied for the record.

 

The poll surveyed 590 Massachusetts residents online between Sept. 17 – 21. It has a margin of error of +/- 4%.

Massachusetts voters were split on Question 3, a proposal that would make Massachusetts’ state elections, starting in 2028, like Boston’s: Candidates of all parties would be on a single ballot in the primary, with the top-two finishers advancing to the general elections.
