A police-involved shooting in Lakeville left one man dead and sent four officers to the hospital on Saturday, according to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office.

 

Just before 2 p.m., a resident called police to their home on Heritage Hill Drive for a well-being check on a “disturbed” family member who had been armed and “acting erratically.”

 

Despite verbal commands for Buckley to drop the gun, he allegedly refused. Officers said gunfire was exchanged and Buckley sustained a gunshot wound.

 

After receiving medical aid from officers on scene, Buckley was taken to Morton Hospital where he later died. Four Lakeville officers were reportedly taken to the hospital for evaluation and later released.

 

The investigation remains ongoing by Massachusetts State Police and the Plymouth County DA’s office, with help from Lakeville police.
