Police have arrested a man and are still searching for a woman after a police chase that began in Somerset Friday evening.

 

Officers first attempted to pull over the suspects’ car after receiving reports of suspected criminal activity at a Somerset bank.

 

Police said the driver refused to stop and the officers chased after the car, but had to call off the pursuit due to traffic on Wilbur Avenue.

 

The chase picked up again in Fall River after the car drove past a detective in an unmarked police cruiser.

 

Police said the detective followed the car onto Route 79 until officers in marked cruisers caught up to them.

 

Officers once again attempted to pull the car over but were unsuccessful.

 

Police said the chase ended in Dighton, where officers successfully deployed stop sticks.

 

Officers from several surrounding cities and towns, including Fall River, Freetown, Berkley and Dighton, were involved in the pursuit, according to police.

 

Police said a man was arrested and a woman remains at large. Neither suspect has been identified, and police said the woman is wanted for non-violent offenses.
