Police are investigating a head-on crash involving a school bus that happened in Somerset Thursday afternoon.

 

Officers rushed to Brayton Point Road just before 3 p.m. after receiving several 911 calls regarding a crash involving a car and school bus.

 

No students on the bus were injured, according to police.

 

Investigators believe the driver fell asleep at the wheel and crashed into the school bus. The driver was brought to a nearby hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

 

Somerset Superintendent Jeffrey Schoonover told 12 News 11 middle school students were on the bus at the time. He also confirmed the bus driver was not injured.

 

Schoonover said the students were brought to Somerset Middle School by a different bus and reunited with their families.
