Mass. Catholic Leaders Criticizing Gov. Healey's Abortion Bill

Catholic leaders across Massachusetts are criticizing Governor Maura Healey's recently signed abortion bill.  The measure allows physicians to perform abortions after 24 weeks based on their personal judgment.

Boston Archbishop Richard Henning called the law a grave offense against the sanctity and dignity of every person, while Massachusetts Citizens for Life says Healey's signature was politically motivated and compared the bill to human rights violations in China and North Korea.

However, major healthcare providers back the change, saying the previous framework around abortion access didn't adequately meet all patients' needs.
