Southcoast Hospitals Group has been named a Best Regional Hospital and ranked No. 12 in Massachusetts and No. 2 in the Providence metro area in the latest U.S. News & World Report Best Hospitals rankings.
The recognition includes Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River, St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford and Tobey Hospital in Wareham, according to a community announcement. Southcoast Hospitals Group also earned High Performing ratings in eight procedures and conditions evaluated by U.S. News & World Report. Only 505 hospitals nationwide earned a place in this year’s rankings.
Southcoast Hospitals Group received High Performing distinctions in:
- Colon cancer surgery
- Heart arrhythmia
- Heart failure
- Hip replacement
- Knee replacement
- Maternity care for uncomplicated pregnancies
- Pacemaker implantation
- Transcatheter aortic valve replacement, or TAVR
