Police in Fall River are investigating a hoax call that led to Stafford Rd to be shut down.

 

In a post to Facebook, Fall River police say they were investigating an active incident on the 300 block of Stafford Rd. The post continued to urge the public to stay away from the area as officials conduct their investigation.

 

According to Fall River Chief J.T. Hoar, the call came in around 6:30 Saturday night. He stressed that police are still investigating the scene are looking to do a sweep of the home where the call came from.

 

According to police the call included an individual claiming to have killed his parents and threatening harm to others.

 

When police arrived on scene they swatted the area.

 

Upon investigation, officials say they determined that no incident occurred and there was no threat to the public.

 

As a result of the severity of the call, officials called for the Emergency Services Unit.

 

The incident is still under investigation as police are looking for individual who made the startling call.
