Massachusetts is unveiling new designs for the new two-billion-dollar Sagamore Bridge.
The plan would install wider traffic lanes, shoulders and separate lanes for vehicles entering and exiting. It would also include a protected path for pedestrians and cyclists with a west-facing sunset lookout.
Construction could begin in late 2027, with the first span opening in 2033. The second span is expected to open by 2037, replacing the 91-year-old bridge.
