Swansea has a new town administrator who’s willing to listen, and he’s “deeply passionate” about “getting it right.”

Mitchell Ruscitti took the helm of the town’s central administration on July 1, and since then, he’s begun making the rounds of local businesses, meeting municipal department heads, and coming to terms with the buzziest of contentions that plague citizens and tend to circulate among locals.

To Ruscitti, who grew up in Milford, he said Swansea “reminded me of home.” Milford, he said, is lauded as the first point of contact for Italian, Portuguese and Irish immigrants — not dissimilar from Swansea’s heritage and the SouthCoast's most prominent cultural enclaves.
