Inside the Historic Abbey building on Rock Street, they’re moving in the hatchets, giant skulls, the standees of Fall River’s most famous resident. More than 133 years after she left, Lizzie Borden is back at her old church.

Miss Lizzie’s Coffee has closed its Second Street cafe, and is now renting space at the former Central Congregational Church, 100 Rock St. Owner Joe Pereira said customers can still expect the same coffee and pastries, but he’s planning a major expansion to fill the historic space with a celebration of Fall River’s unique history and culture.

The coffee shop is also leaving behind any bad blood between it and its former neighbor, the Lizzie Borden House.
