A man wanted in Fall River was arrested early Monday morning after allegedly fleeing from New Bedford police, prompting a pursuit.
Officers assisting the Fall River Police Department spent the night searching for 30-year-old Brandon Sylvia. Authorities said Sylvia had made violent threats, cut off his ankle monitor and was believed to be armed somewhere in New Bedford.
Police eventually located the suspect near Upton Street. When they tried to stop his vehicle, Sylvia allegedly hit a police cruiser and ran away. He was taken into custody without further incident following a short chase, according to police.
Sylvia was charged in New Bedford with operating with a suspended or revoked license, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, failure to stop or yield, leaving the scene of property damage, resisting arrest and vandalizing property.
