Elevated Brush Fire Risk In SE MA

There is an increased risk of brush fires in southeastern Massachusetts due to current conditions.

It has been abnormally dry recently in Bristol County and on Cape Cod.  In the last several days there have been brush fires in Brewster, Westport and Freetown.

The public is advised to obey local burn bans, monitor fire pits and bonfires, avoid throwing cigarette butts on the ground and clear vegetation at least 30 feet from houses and other structures.
