Two people are facing animal cruelty charges in New Bedford. 

Eight dogs were found in very unsanitary conditions last Wednesday in an apartment on Davis Street.  Police also found multiple guns including two that were not properly secured. 

The tenant, 28-year-old Austin Mello, and his girlfriend 25-year-old Kaileigh Blessing, both have licenses to carry. However, they are facing firearms charges in addition to animal cruelty.
