Gasoline prices in Massachusetts are down five more cents this week, according to AAA Northeast.
AAA’s January 14 survey of prices in Massachusetts finds self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $2.44 per gallon.
The Massachusetts price is twenty cents higher than the national average for regular unleaded of $2.24.
A year ago at this time, the average price in Massachusetts was seven cents higher at $2.51.
“The price of crude oil has been slowly increasing this year, but unlike some parts of the country the impact has yet to be felt locally by motorists at the pump,” said Mary Maguire, Director of Public and Legislative Affairs.
The range in prices in the latest AAA survey for unleaded regular is 86 cents, from a low of $2.19 to a high of $3.05.
