WSAR NEWS

The Fall River City Council has set the date for a potential Recall Election aimed at Fall River Mayor Jasiel Correia II, with Tuesday March 12 being the designated date, pending any court challenges or other developments that could delay or cancel the event.

Correia has been dealing with a 13 Count Federal Indicatment since October 2018, which include 9 counts of alleged Wire Fraud and 4 of allegedly filing false tax returns, in connection with a smart phone app firm called SnoOwl, which Correia helped develop while a student at Providence College.

Under the current schedule, Correia and other potential contenders, which will include Community Activist Erica Scott Pacheco and former Fall River School Committee Member Kyle Riley, can secure nominating papers beginning Friday Morning.

Correia will also be required by the Fall River Charter to deliver a State of The City address in March.

Correia will be in court for an Interim Status Conference on February 13 at 2pm in the Moakley Federal Courthouse in Boston.
