Carol Valcourt

Carol was born, raised and educated in the City of Fall River and then at Providence College and Salve Regina University. She served as a Congressional Aide to former Congresswoman Margaret Heckler before beginning her employment with the City of River in 1980. She held the positions of Clerk-typist, City Council Secretary, and Assistant City Clerk before being appointed the first female City Clerk in the City of Fall River. She also had the distinction of being the first female City Clerk elected by her peers as President of the Massachusetts City Clerks Association. She retired as City Clerk in 2009. She currently serves as a board member and former Campaign Chair of the United Way of Greater Fall River, and as the Co-chair of the Fall River Holiday Parade Committee, which organizes and raises funds for the Annual Children's Holiday Parade. She and her husband are the parents of one daughter, and reside in Somerset with their two loveable rescues.
